The resort sits directly on the reef and is a member of Relais and Châteaux. It holds the Michelin Three-Key distinction, the highest in the Michelin Guide's first Oceania selection. Anchor Bay and the house reef lie at the front, and the Research Station, Cook's Look and the beaches can be reached on guided tours or on foot.
The accommodation is spread between Garden View rooms and suites, Beachfront Suites along the arc of Anchor Bay with direct beach access, Ocean View Villas, some with plunge pools, and the larger Pavilion, Villa and House. The Pavilion sits on a ridge with glass sliding doors onto a wrap-around deck, a deep standalone bath, a private plunge pool and panoramic views of the reef, and a bottle of Billecart-Salmon Champagne waits on ice. The Villa has three bedrooms. The House is a three-storey, three-bedroom residence of 260 square metres on a private peninsula, with a rooftop of 106 square metres, an outdoor bath, a private pool, a dedicated private host and a minimum stay of four nights. The Cottage, a self-contained cottage with a king suite, sits close by.
Dining is included in the nightly rate, along with wines and beverages from the standard list. Salt Water serves breakfast, lunch and dinner on a deck with 180-degree ocean views, with menus that change daily and fresh produce from the island's waters and the mainland that arrives on daily flights. Driftwood Bar is the place for sunset drinks, and picnics are packed for private beaches. Essentia Day Spa uses the Sodashi range and has private and couples treatment rooms.
Days go to snorkelling from the beach, diving, motorised dinghies to a private beach, stand-up paddleboards, and the walk to the top of Cook's Look.
The resort suits couples and adults travelling together who want the reef at the door and a small island to themselves.
