Each sanctuary has one open wall facing the Pitons and the sea, and 24 of them have a private infinity pool. Individual bridges lead to each sanctuary, and rugged stone columns climb into the sky. The Pitons are a UNESCO World Heritage Site and are in view from every sanctuary. The fourth wall is deliberately absent, so the bedroom, the living area and the pool become one space open to the view. The pool sanctuaries come in four categories, Star, Moon, Sun and Galaxy, graded by the size of the sanctuary and its pool. The Galaxy sanctuaries sit on the south-west corner and average 2,000 square feet, with an infinity pool of about 900 square feet. The five Sky sanctuaries have a large whirlpool bath for two in place of a pool. A butler, called a major domo, looks after each stay. Chef Allen Susser, a James Beard Award winner, created its Jade Cuisine, a tropical fusion with Caribbean influences. The Celestial Terrace above it serves sunset cocktails and dinner under the stars. Guests can take a cooking class, visit the chocolate lab or walk the organic farm that supplies the kitchen, and private dining is offered.
